QUESTIONS ABOUT FEES
How much do you charge?
A very basic description of our fee is 35% of what your item sells for. (you keep 65%) However, Internet Auction Experts retains a $15.00 Minimum Commission so it's a good idea to bring goods that will sell for $40.00 or more in order to begin enjoying the low 35% fee.
What do you suggest I start my auction at?
We prefer to start all auctions at $9.99. Low starting bids get bidders interested. The first bid is the most important - as bidders tend to gravitate towards items that already have bids, frequently resulting in higher final bid prices. The structure of on-line auctions produces a perfect supply/demand economy, resulting in the fair market value for your item, at the time it is listed.
I have a lot of stuff. Do you offer price breaks?
No, every client we have is charged the same fees.
I have really expensive stuff. Do you offer price breaks?
No, every client we have is charged the same fees.
QUESTIONS ABOUT THE TIME FRAME
How soon after the auction ends will I get paid?
Most auctions are finalized in a couple of weeks. (Money in hand) Others take a while longer. Some people pay with a personal check and we must wait for it to clear. Some folks procrastinate and wait till the last minute. And most on-line auction houses have rules regarding giving buyers adequate time to pay. Regardless, within two working days after it has shipped, we pay you!
How do you know if someone is a "dead beat bidder"?
We allow bidders approximately 3 weeks to send payment, at this time we will most likely come to the conclusion that they aren't planning on paying.
What happens if the bidder does not pay?
Fortunately, in our experience most people we deal with come through! There is that one person who doesn't everyonce in a while, and if they do not send a payment within the 3 week timeframe, we then will file a "non-paying bidder claim" with Ebay. That means that the person who did not pay is reported to Ebay. If your auction closes, the bidder does not pay, and the "non-paying bidder claim" has not gotten a payment out of them, we will list your item(s) one more time at no charge to you. We will not be held responsible/liable for non-paying bidders.
QUESTIONS ABOUT THINGS THAT ARE NOT ALLOWED
Can I bid on my own auctions so that the bid prices go higher?
This practice is strictly prohibited. It's literally a federal offense. To quote our friends at Ebay "Don't even try".
I have counterfeit items, will you sell them?
No, we're prohibited by federal law and most auction houses have rules against such "goods". If you're not sure whether it's genuine or not, it's probably best not to use us to sell it.
OTHER FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Where are you located?
Right now we are using Big Boys Toys, at the corner of Juan Tabo & Indian School (next to Arbys) as a drop off point.
What are you hours?
Monday thru Friday 10:00 - 5:00
Closed Saturday & Sunday
Do you buy items?
No. We accept consignments, we don't buy.
I have some big stuff, can you sell it?
We can attempt to sell it with the provision that the buyer is responsible for shipping. We have associates who can deliver automobiles (by trailer) for a fee. But for the most part we use the United States Postal Service or UPS. Their limitations are 60 lbs. or less in weight and a package girth of 108".
Can I simply send you photos and a description and have you list my item for me?
No. We need to have the item here so we can get an accurate discription of the item, and take the pictures that we need to take."
I know the book value of my item is really high! Will it sell for at least that much on-line?
It should receive the current market value! That may be lower or higher than "book value". Book value is less relevant in today's market. The internet has completely altered the market and publishers of book values have difficulty keeping up.
Can you appraise something for me?
We can attempt to look back at what items like yours have sold for recently. And hopefully give you a good idea. But we're not appraisers.
How do most winning bidders pay you?
Most people pay using credit cards, some send us money orders. A few send us personal checks. But most folks can't stand to wait for their new acquisition and pay with VISA, MASTERCARD or DISCOVER card, so we can ship them the item as soon as the next day!
What do I need to do to get started?
Bring your item (s) by our drop off location. Fill out the agreement & help us with any useful information you have about your items. When we describe your items better, it almost always helps to get more, higher bids!
We need to know the absolute lowest price you'd be comfortable with so we don't give your stuff away! That's why we make reserve prices and higher starting bids available. We prefer to start everything we sell at $9.99 with no reserve price, but that's up to you. Items up for auction usually sort themselves out. If your item is worth a hundred dollars, it'll probably sell for a hundred dollars. If it's rare, hopefully a bidding war will start and it'll fetch even more! That's the beauty of on-line auctions. But as with all auctions, there is no guarantee what it will sell for.
Why should I sell through Internet Auction Experts and not someone else?
Check out our auctions. Look at the "hit counter" placed below the photos, it shows how many people actually stopped and looked at that particular item. Some national chains don't have that many lookers! Look at our feedback rating. Also check out our associates at Big Boys Toys and you'll see a customer oriented group of professionals who work hard at customer satisfaction.
